Nelonen reels in Armoza’s Sex Tape

Sex Tape was a finalist in Armoza Formats’ Formagination pitching competition

Finnish network Nelonen has commissioned a local adaptation of social experiment series Sex Tape, originally developed by Israel’s Armoza Formats.

Each episode of Sex Tape follows three couples as they attempt to fix their relationships by filming their love lives for a week. The couples then meet each other and a sex therapist to try to work out how to improve their love lives and, ultimately, their relationships.

The format was developed by Armoza in 2016, after a pitch by sexologist Dr Shelly Varod at the company’s annual Formagination competition, and recently aired on Channel 4 in the UK. It has previously been licensed or optioned in territories such as Germany, Latin America, Belgium and Spain. The Finnish version will be produced by Yellow Film & TV.

“Normalising sex talk and deepening our understanding of real people’s love lives can really make a change to expectations of relationships,” said Suvi Oja-Heiniemi, head of entertainment at Yellow Film & TV.
