The Reg Grundy Organisation was founded in 1959 and has produced some of the most recognised television shows in Australia.

In 2006 the firm – known then as Grundy Television – was merged with Crackerjack Productions to form FremantleMedia Australia.

Its output includes The Young Doctors and Prisoner, which is known as Prisoner: Cell Block H in the UK. Grundy also developed popular gameshows for Australian TV, including Blankety Blank, Wheel of Fortune and Sale of the Century.

Ian Hogg, head of FremantleMedia Australia, described Grundy as a national treasure.

”His visionary ability to know how to connect Australian families through some of this country’s most loved programming has stood the test of time,” he said. “Reg is an icon and he will be sorely missed.”
