NBCU Int’l ups Donati for lifestyle, kids

NBCUniversal (NBCU) International has expanded the role of long-serving executive Duccio Donati to include international responsibility for lifestyle and kids’ brands.

LA-based Donati, currently executive VP of networks E! and Style outside of the US, will take on the newly created role of executive VP, lifestyle and kids, NBCU International.

The position will see Donati explore opportunities to drive expansion of NBCU International’s assets, including DreamWorks, in three regional hubs: EMEA, Latin America and Asia Pacific.

Donati will continue to oversee E! Entertainment Television outside the US, while also working with execs across NBCU’s international businesses on the lifestyle and kids’ brands E!, Bravo, Oxygen and DreamWorks.

NBCU acquired Shrek and Kung Fu Panda firm DreamWorks Animation last year in a deal valued at almost US$4bn.

Donati will report to Kevin MacLellan, NBCU chairman of global distribution and international, following the promotion, which comes after Donati returned to LA in 2013 after two years in London.

The exec joined NBCU-owned Comcast’s international organisation in 1999. He became executive VP of Comcast International Media Group in 2010, overseeing all aspects of the international division’s properties.

“Taking a portfolio approach to managing these two key genres aligns with NBCU’s organisational approach to cable brands in the US,” said MacLellan.

“Duccio is uniquely positioned to take on this role having had extensive commercial and operational experience across both the licensing and channels business, a track record of success with E! International and an established role connecting NBCU’s international and US brand teams.”
