NBCU Germany prepares for Day of the Dead

Syfy’s Day of the Dead is sold by LA-based Dynamic Television

MIPCOM: NBCUniversal (NBCU) Networks in Germany has acquired forthcoming US horror series Day of the Dead from LA-based Dynamic Television.

Dynamic has added the 10-part series to its portfolio in time for this week’s Mipcom Online+ and has secured the deal with NBCU for its Syfy network in Germany.

The show is from Abbott Street Films and Cartel Entertainment (Creepshow) and is based on George A Romero’s classic zombie film. Production is currently underway in Vancouver, with the series expected to premiere on Syfy in the US next year.

Day of the Dead is executive produced by Stan Spry, Jeff Holland and Drew Brown on behalf of Cartel Entertainment; Robert Dudelson, James Dudelson, and Jordan Kizwani from HiTide Studios; and Matt Drake with his company Abbott Street Films.

Sam DeGange, Steven Kostanski, Todd Masters, Doran Chandler, Dawn Knight and Devan Towers also exec produce the show, which follows six strangers trying to survive the first 24 hours of an undead invasion.
