Telegdy has been named president of alternative and reality group for NBC Entertainment, while Ahr becomes president of Universal Television Alternative Studio.

The new initiative is part of NBC’s strategy to make its content more global and will see the duo supply NBC and other networks with series in the reality and formats space.

It will run alongside NBC’s existing scripted studio, Universal Television, which is led by newly installed president Pearlena Igbokwe.

Telegdy will continue to report to NBC Entertainment chairman Bob Greenblatt, while Ahr reports to Telegdy.

“Part of the strategy was setting up a studio, to be run by Meredith, that will provide us with the biggest reality hits of the future, whether on NBC or other programming services and to territories around the world,” said Greenblatt.

“Paul comes to us with a global understanding of this business and I’m pleased that he will continue to make this company his home after such a winning track record that began so dramatically with The Voice.”
