NBC gives its verdict on Trial & Error

US network NBC has ordered a second season of Trial & Error, which puts a comedic spin on the recent flurry of murder documentaries.

Producer Warner Bros TV has received an order for another 10 episodes of the single-camera show, written by Jeff Astrof and Matt Miller.

Trial & Error follows an ambitious New York lawyer who heads to a southern town to defend a poetry professor accused of murdering his wife.

Last week NBC revealed it would be debuting new dramas The Brave and Law & Order True Crime: The Menendez Murders in the fall, along with revived comedy Will & Grace.

The broadcaster also unveiled five freshman dramas and three new comedies at its Upfronts presentation.
