NBC adapts Seven’s Secret Bridesmaids

Secret Bridesmaids’ Business aired on Seven Network down under

US broadcast network NBC has ordered a script based on romantic thriller Secret Bridesmaids’ Business, created by Australia’s Seven Studios.

Written by Deirdre Shaw (Bluff City Law, Jane The Virgin), Ties The Bind will be adapted from the Australian miniseries, which was itself based on a stage play by Elizabeth Coleman.

The drama follows three women who make a promise to one another which leads them to hold dangerous secrets, and is being developed by Keshet Studios, the US arm of the Israeli producer and distributor, and Universal Television.

If NBC moves ahead to series then Shaw will executive produce with Peter Traugott, president of Keshet Studios, Avi Nir of Keshet Media Group and Alon Shtruzman of Keshet International, alongside Seven Studios’ Julie McGauran, MaryAnne Carroll and Amanda Crittenden.

Traugott said: “With its well-crafted relationships and cliffhanger plot, Seven Studios’ Secret Bridesmaids’ Business is compelling viewing.”

The original drama aired for six episodes on the Seven Network in Australia in 2019.  Israeli sales house Keshet International sells the original series and format.
