Natural history pick-ups for Hit Wildlife

The UK's Hit Wildlife, the natural history division of kids TV distributor Hit Entertainment, has scored a number of natural history sales on its slate of new titles for MIPCOM.

National Geographic Channels International has taken worldwide rights (except the US) to Hit's Ghosts of the Great Salt Lake. This 60' special, co-produced by Hit Wildlife and Wildside Aquavision, follows the life of a brown hyena and her pups in Botswana's salt pans of Makgadikgadi.

German broadcaster WDR has also walked away with Legends of the Gobi, a 60' special documenting the life of camels in the Mongolian desert. The show is a co-production between Hit Wildlife and Imago Productions.

Hit's Life on the Edge: Down Under has also been acquired by Australia's Network 10. Another 60' special, the show explores life on the verdant Dampier Islands off western Australia.

Also on Hit Wildlife's MIPCOM slate is a tour of New Zealand, The Last Place on Earth (60'); Bouley Bay Watch, a half-hour look at the Channel Islands bay; Chimps on the Move (60'); and Last of the Dragons (60').

Hit will also be pushing Nomads in Space, a 60' special about Kazakhstan's space programme; and Sloth – The 7th Deadly Sin, a 50' take on the mysterious life of the sloth.
