Registration numbers for January’s Natpe market and conference are “pacing well ahead” of the previous event’s figures, according to Natpe president and CEO Rod Perth.

Natpe says there are 29 new exhibitors from “virtually every sector” of the business attending the conference for the first time.

The growth has led Natpe to expand the event, due to take place between January 19 and 21 at the Fontainebleau in Miami, to the neighbouring Eden Roc Miami Beach Resort.

“We are delighted that with all of our most important numbers tracking ahead of last year’s capacity turnout, we have moved to substantially increase our physical space in 2016 by expanding to the Eden Roc next door to the Fontainebleau,” said Perth.

Next year’s event will feature two days dedicated to reality TV, including a new room especially for business meetings and networking.

Howie Mandel is also returning to host the Reality Breakthrough Awards, which will recognise innovative content in five categories: reality, competition, gameshows, docusoap and factual.

Finalists include The Voice, Lip Sync Battle, Wahlburgers, Hollywood Game Night, Catfish and Vice.

Next year’s conference also features sessions and events with a focus on scripted television, including a session on the first day titled The Business of Scripted.

Speakers set to take the stage in Miami next year include Norman Lear, Quincy Jones, Kris Jenner, Todd Chrisley, Marc Cherry, Mitch Hurwitz and Howard Gordon.

Endemol Shine CEO Sophie Turner Laing and Viacom group president Doug Herzog are among the recipients of the prestigious annual Brandon Tartikoff Legacy Awards.
