The historical drama Killing Patton will be based on O’Reilly’s book of the same name, which focuses on US Army General George S Patton Jr who died in mysterious circumstances shortly after the end of the Second World War.

Scott’s Scott Free Productions previously produced Nat Geo factual dramas Killing Lincoln, Killing Kennedy and Killing Jesus while Killing Reagan is due to air globally next year. Killing Lincoln and then Killing Kennedy both broke Nat Geo’s viewing records with their US premieres.

Killing Patton (4×60′) will begin production in 2016, with Anthony Peckham (Sherlock Holmes) attached to adapt the screenplay.

O’Reilly, better known to US audiences as a commentator on the Fox News Network, co-authored the book with Martin Dugard.
