MX Player grows int’l footprint

Singapore-based streaming service MX Player has launched in the US, the UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Bangladesh and Nepal.

The advertising-supported platform features 10,000 hours of licensed video content from distributors such as FilmRise, Shoreline, Screen Media, Sonar Entertainment and Tricoast.

“Consumers across the world are moving towards consuming video content online. We believe in meeting this rapidly rising demand from discerning entertainment lovers with stories that strike a chord,” said Nakul Kapur, head of international business at MX Player, which is part of Indian media conglomerate Times Internet.
