MTV, Timberland partner on doc

Viacom-owned music network MTV in the UK has teamed up with lifestyle brand Timberland on a new advertising-funded documentary.

Loyle Carner

The channel is set to air the 2×30’ doc, fronted by British rapper Loyle Carner, under the working title Timberland Presents Nature Needs Heroes with Loyle Carner.

The docuseries will follow the rapper as he explores urban greening projects – projects that mutually benefit city dwellers and their environment – in his home town of Croydon, and is part of Timberland’s global ad campaign Nature Needs Heroes.

Loyle will visit a number of different sites and speak to a variety of experts to promote the area’s creativity and highlight the importance of green spaces to create positive change for local communities and the environment.

Rumpus Media will produce the documentary, with filming starting this October and an air date on MTV UK expected for later this year. Timberland Presents Nature Needs Heroes with Loyle Carner will be exec produced by Morgan Roberts and directed by Paula Haydock for Rumpus Media.

The show has been created in partnership with MTV and Omnicom Media Group UK’s specialist creative content agency DRUM, alongside Kinc and Rumpus.

In addition to the linear show, content will also be distributed across VoD, digital and social platforms. The first episode of the series will also be made available on MTV’s YouTube channel for a limited time.
