MTV Int’l invests in Million Dollar Baby

MTV International has ordered an observational reality format about a mother’s attempt to make her young child a millionaire from the makers of Teen Mom UK.

Million Dollar Baby (8×60’) will be produced by Leeds- and Manchester-based production company True North.

It was co-commissioned for MTV International and MTV UK by Craig Orr, VP of commissioning and development at ‎MTV International, and Kerry Taylor, senior VP of Youth and Music for Viacom International Media Networks.

The show, executive produced by Fiona O’Sullivan, True North’s head of factual entertainment and reality, will follow reality TV star Lateysha Grace as she sets out to make her two-year-old daughter Wynter a millionaire by the time she is five.

Original commissions to air on MTV UK so far this year include a 16th season of Geordie Shore, S8 of Ex on the Beach and the premiere of reality series The Charlotte Show. S3 of Just Tattoo of Us will air later this spring.

Million Dollar Baby will launch across MTV’s 62 international channels and digital platforms next month.
