More Mr Selfridge in store for ITV

UK commercial broadcaster ITV has commissioned a fourth season of period drama Mr Selfridge.

The drama, from ITV Studios, is inspired by the turbulent life of charismatic American retail entrepreneur Harry Gordon Selfridge. The fourth run will focus on his dramatic fall as he loses hold of his empire and the social status he worked so hard to secure.

The drama airs on PBS in the US and has been sold into around 100 international territories by ITV Studios Global Entertainment.

Filming will take place on a replica of the Selfridge’s shop floor that is housed in a former carpet warehouse in North-west London.

The new series was commissioned by ITV director of drama Steve November and controller of drama Victoria Fea.
