More Catastrophe for C4

Channel 4 in the UK has ordered a second run of comedy series Catastrophe before the first season has finished airing.

The show, written by and starring Sharon Horgan and Rob Delaney, debuted January 19 and follows an Irish woman played by Horgan and a American man, played by Delaney, who find out they are having a baby.

Avalon Television is producing, with Birdbath Productions and Merman Films. Catastrophe was commissioned by Fiona McDermott, comedy commissioning editor at C4.

In related news, C4 has appointed Little Dot Studios development producer Isaac Densu to a newly created commissioning editor role for the broadcaster’s digital Shorts channel.

Densu will report to Richard Davidson-Houston, C4’s head of All 4 and digital content, and be responsible for commissioning original Shorts for All 4, Channel 4’s new digital proposition.

Densu, who will also work on brand-funded Shorts commissions, worked on long and short formats at Little Dot and before that had spells at prodcos including Lemonade Money and Yalli Productions.
