Moonscoop pushes Tara Duncan

France’s Moonscoop has sold animated series Tara Duncan (below) to broadcasters across Europe and the Middle East, as it secures deals for spin-off products and DVDs.

Spanish public network TVE has picked up the cartoon, which was coproduced by Moonscoop and India’s DQ Entertainment. Other takers include the Disney Channel in Germany, Nickelodeon in Italy, Norway’s NRK, Polish net Canal+, Chello Central Europe and MBC in the Middle East.

Meanwhile, Moonscoop has inked merchandising deals for Tara Duncan stationery, school bags, textiles and apparel with companies including CTI, TV Mania, ATM and Alcara. Universal Pictures France also picked up the home video rights.

The show is based on a series of children’s fantasy books penned by Sophie Audouin-Mamikonian, which has been sold in countries as diverse as Taiwan, Turkey and Bulgaria.
