Mondo forecasts MeteoHeroes for MipTV

MeteoHeroes looks at issues such as climate change

European producer and distributor Mondo TV is preparing to launch an animated eco-adventure show for children at MipTV next month in Cannes.

MeteoHeroes (52×7′) follows special kids who can control the weather and is being coproduced with Italy’s Meteo Operations Italia, with the series set to launch in spring next year.

The show addresses issues like climate change, ecology and respect for nature through the adventures of six children who transform into superheroes with power over the weather.

Mondo TV and Aurora World’s YooHoo to the Rescue

Also on the slate is YooHoo to the Rescue, from coproducers Mondo TV and Aurora World. The 3D CGI 52×11’ children’s series is based on the line of Aurora World plush toys and will be available worldwide in March 2019 exclusively on the Netflix platform.

From April and May this year it will also be shown on free-to-air channels in Poland, Russia, Spain and Portugal, with the show set to debut on Discovery-owned Frisbee in Italy on April 1.

Robot Trains is in its second season

Elsewhere, a second season of animated series Robot Trains is also on the slate, coproduced by Mondo and South Korea’s CJ E&M, along with the second season of robot series Rail Watch.

The first run of Rail Watch (32×11′) has already been sold to Karusel (Russia), Piwi+ and Gullidoo (France), Cartoonito (UK), DeA Junior and Cartoonito (Italy), Canal Panda (Portugal), PCCW (Hong Kong), Dkids (Middle East) and Clan TVE (Spain). More territory announcements are expected this year.

Other shows on the slate include Invention Story (104×11’), Latin American series Heidi, Bienvenida a Casa (60×45’), the second season of 2D animated series Bat Pat (52×11′) and Sissi the Young Empress.
