Millichip takes over Sky Vision

Carl Hall has left Sky Vision to launch a new production company, with Jane Millichip taking over the UK distributor as MD.

Hall will leave Sky to set up factual-focused Warehouse 51 Productions, a new independent production house based in London.

As part of the changes, Hall will take on Sky Vision’s Bristol production office under the Warehouse 51 banner, while Sky Vision will collaborate with Hall on the distribution of Warehouse 51 productions.

Meanwhile, Millichip, currently director of sales and global brands, will become MD of Sky Vision, having joined the distributor from Zodiak Rights in February.

Sky Vision’s head of programming and development Danny Tipping will continue to oversee Sky Vision’s factual production and development slate and will report to Millichip.

Hall sold his previous company, Parthenon Entertainment, to Sky in July 2012.

One of the key focuses of Sky Vision is distribution of Sky’s growing catalogue internationally as it aims to invest £600m (US$951m) in original UK content by the end of 2014.

“Sky Vision is ideally placed to grow and develop and to help Sky realise the enormous potential that comes from being the fastest-growing source of investment in original British productions,” Hall said.

“However, I’m an entrepreneur at heart and having led Sky Vision for more than a year, and with a brilliant management team in place, I want to get back to what I know best.”
