In the newly created position, Kevin Conroy is charged with broadening the US studio’s new shortform digital content.

He will also develop and expand partnerships with content brands for virtual and augmented reality experiences and will work on the company’s faith-based and OTT efforts.

Conroy, most recently Univision’s chief strategy and data officer, will report to Mark Burnett, MGM’s television and digital group president.

“Kevin is the perfect seasoned executive who will use his innovative instincts, knowledge and experience, to optimise our MGM content and propel our digital brand,” said Burnett.

Burnett assumed his position on a five-year contract last December. The move has been followed by a series of appointments, with reality TV veteran Barry Poznick joining in April and a pair of promotions in the sales department in May.
