Metronome Finland MD heads to Yellow

The MD of Metronome Film & Television in Finland is leaving the company after eight years to join rival Scandi producer Yellow Film & TV.

Milla Bruneau, who has been MD and exec producer at the Finnish arm of Shine Group-owned Metronome since 2005, will become chief operating officer and deputy CEO of Yellow from September this year.

Bruneau’s credits include local versions of Pop Idol, MasterChef, Got to Dance and many more.

Her exit from Metronome Finland comes shortly after head of development Topi Alto left the firm to join compatriot producer Aito Media earlier this week.

Yellow Film & TV Group is one of the largest indies in Finland, focused on scripted and non-scripted TV entertainment and movies. Highlights from its recent slate include Comedy Combat – heading into a fifth season on MTV3 this fall – plus Pasila, YleLeaks and Kimmo.

As well as hiring Bruneau, the firm has recently brought onboard a new creative director for entertainment, Jari Keränen, and producer Joonas Nordman. The trio reports to CEO Olli Haikka.

Bruneau, who prior to Metronome worked at FremantleMedia and Nordisk Film & TV, will oversee formats and entertainment programming at Yellow, as well as overall business operations.

She said of her appointment: “My extensive experience especially in entertainment, lifestyle and factual entertainment programming will further strengthen the already dynamic team at Yellow Group.”

Bruneau told C21 she was looking forward to working with a locally-based company after 15 years working with international firms, and said she wouldn’t have considered a move to another super indie.

She said her focus would be on building up the TV entertainment side of the business with the aim of getting formats off the ground internationally.
