Mentorn's robot format boosts TNN ratings

Stateside cable network TNN's first original series Robot Wars: Extreme Warriors, produced by UK independent Mentorn, has raked in some 1.3m viewers on its first outing.

The hour show averaged a 1.02 household rating, representing 1.3m viewers in its premiere on Monday, August 20 at 20:00-21:00. The figures are an increase of 34% over the previous four-week time period average. In addition, 25% more adults 18-49 tuned in.

In younger demos, the show drew 69% more adults 18-34 and 147% more adults 18-24 than the previous four-week time period average.

TNN's show, like the UK version of the battling robots format, is produced by Mentorn, the creators of the original ROBOT WARS series and the U.K.'s largest independent producer. Tom Gutteridge and Stephen Carsey are the exec producers.

The show is the one of five new original series the Viacom-owned channel is launching this week. The others are Ultimate Revenge, Small Shots, Lifegame, Pop Across America.
