Mediapro brings Crush to Cannes

Spanish channels operator and production group Mediapro has released details of its first format since appointing long-serving Keshet executive Ran Tellem to its content team.

Crush is a gameshow in which teams of four people must answer questions by standing on the answers they think are correct, or else they will be ‘crushed’ by locked safes.

It is the first format that has been co-developed between Mediapro, which hired Tellem as head of international content development in May, and Madrid-based Phileas Productions.

The format is being distributed internationally by Imagina International Sales, which is part of the Mediapro Group.

Mediapro’s current TV slate includes Sky Italia, HBO and Canal+ drama The Young Pope, in conjunction with Haut et Court and Wildside.

Phileas Productions, meanwhile, is behind formats such as The ATM, The 20 Little Piggy Banks and Don’t Say It Bring It.
