Matt Reeves signs with Warner Bros

Warner Bros Television Group (WBTVG) has signed an overall deal with writer, producer and director Matt Reeves and his prodco 6th & Idaho.

Under the exclusive, multi-year deal, 6th & Idaho will develop new television programming for all WBTVG’s platforms, including HBO Max, on-demand services, premium/pay and basic cable channels and broadcast networks.

The projects will be produced in association with Warner Bros Television, Warner Horizon Scripted Television, Warner Bros Animation or Blue Ribbon Content, depending on the platform.

Beyond the US, Warner Bros International Television Distribution will distribute 6th & Idaho’s shows to the global marketplace.

6th & Idaho is behind productions such as forthcoming Netflix drama series Away and Amazon Prime Video drama Tales From The Loop. Reeves, meanwhile, is currently at the helm of feature film The Batman, due for release in 2021, and previously directed and co-wrote War for the Planet of the Apes.

In related news, 6th & Idaho has appointed Daniel Pipski as executive VP and head of television.

Pipski joins the company after serving in the same role at Jason Bateman’s Aggregate Films, where he spearheaded development and co-exec produced upcoming FX limited series A Teacher.

Pipski has worked in the industry for almost 20 years, developing and producing TV and film projects for companies including Miramax Television, Working Title Television, Groundswell Productions and Sean Bailey, Ben Affleck and Matt Damon’s LivePlanet.
