MarVista promotes production trio

LA-based MarVista Entertainment has rejigged its senior management team with a series of promotions within its physical production division.

Jennifer Westin

Jennifer Westin has been promoted to senior VP and leads the production team for the company’s original films, series and entertainment content, with a remit that includes oversight of production finance and post-production.

She was most recently VP of production, having joined the company in 2017 after being an indie producer, and reports to MarVista’s chief operating officer Tony Vassiliadis.

Elsewhere, former NBCUniversal exec Michael Rothman has been upped from director of physical production to VP, reporting to Westin. Michael Meilander, meanwhile, has been named director of physical production and reports into Rothman.

Fernando Szew, MarVista’s CEO, said the promotions had been made as a result of the company’s expanding output, which includes more than 60 movies shot around the globe in 2019.

“With the significant increase of our development and production pipeline over the past few years, it’s crucial for us to create a physical production division in support of our rapid expansion,” he said.

Szew added: “With Jennifer leading the team, we are in a position to provide efficient, cost-effective, centralised and superior levels of service to both the creative community and content platforms worldwide.”

MarVista has been expanding its international relationships over recent months, striking production partnerships with Neshama Entertainment in Canada and Hemisphere Media Group in Latin America.
