Maron makes it to Oz, UK

Broadcasters in Australia and Europe have picked up a range of programmes from Canadian distributor Tricon Films & Television, including US cablenet IFC’s comedy Maron.

Maron (23×30’ HD) has been picked up by Fox UK and ABC2 in Australia, as well as iTunes in Canada and the UK (EST), Beyond Entertainment (DVD/EST) and Inflight Productions for Air New Zealand and Thai Airways.

The series fictionalises comedian Marc Maron’s life, relationship and career, which includes his popular podcast WTF, and features conversations with fellow comedians and celebrities.

Meanwhile, C More in Scandinavia and Studio Canal in France have picked up IFC’s parody miniseries The Spoils of Babylon (6×30’ HD).

The series recently aired on Fox UK and ABC2, while DVD/EST rights went to Beyond Entertainment for Australia and New Zealand, and EST rights were sold to iTunes in Canada and the UK.

SBS2 in Australia, iTunes Canada and Beyond Digital (DVD/EST) have picked up IFC sketch comedy The Birthday Boys (20×30’ HD), while the channel’s Comedy Bang! Bang! (90×30’ HD) went to AV Jet (Transasia Airways).

Puls TV Poland has taken Forbidden Science (13×60’ HD) and InSecurity (23×30’ HD), an action-comedy about the men and women of an intelligence and security agency.

Finally, NBCUniversal/Syfy in Australia has picked Sanctuary seasons one to four (59×60’ HD).
