Marks, Gran deal emerges from Chrysalis

UK producer Chrysalis Vision has signed a first-look deal with Goodnight Sweetheart and Birds of a Feather writers Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran.

Mick Pilsworth

The deal will see the duo reunite with Chrysalis CEO Mick Pilsworth, who worked with Marks and Gran during the early 1990s when he was MD of their TV production business, Alomo Productions.

Chris Wright, chairman of Chrysalis Vision, described the pair as “two of the most successful British television writers” and said several projects were in the works.

Pilsworth added that the duo would be focused on developing “a number” of dramas and comedies.

Sky invested in UK drama specialist Chrysalis Vision last year, with Sky Vision becoming the production outfit’s commercial and distribution partner.

Chrysalis Vision was formed after the Chrysalis brand was revived in 2014 by former Chrysalis TV Group CEO Pilsworth and Chrysalis Group chairman Wright. Entrepreneurs Luke Johnson and Roger Parry were also part of the founding group.
