SONG vs DANCE is an innovative competition format where two of the biggest forms of artistic performance – singing and dancing – come together on one stage. This established a new benchmark in competition television. Outstanding performers will compete in thrilling head-to-head battles in this video game-inspired format, leaving only one winner and answering the ultimate question: Which is better, song or dance?

In each episode, singers compete against dancers over four rounds. Each team, Team Song and Team Dance, are led by an esteemed coach respected in their field of performance. At the top of the round, the coach must “choose their player” to decide who will represent their genre and be selected to compete. This totally unique element the “player’s cards” contain the statistics of each performer. Similar to a Pokemon card game, each coach has their own deck of performer playing cards, putting down a card for each battle to choose their player. The opposing coach now must strategize who will be most successful against that competitor. Cameras backstage show the performers as they nervously wait to be called onstage.

The tension is thick. The performers never know when they will be chosen to perform or who they will be performing against.
Who will their coach choose?

Choosing our winner is a panel of three celebrity judges from the world of entertainment and well known to viewers, one famous dancer, one famous singer, and a famous comedian. These judges are given the difficult task of choosing each battle’s winning performance.

The judges aren’t mean spirited but instead funny and engaging; interacting with the teams and audience and cheering on the amazing performers. Since each team is made up of top notch performance artist, their job is certainly not easy.

The judges decision is based on a very simple criteria: who entertained you the most? At the end of each round, they reveal which team moved them the most. At the end of the final battle, the celebrity judges and the audience decides who wins the top prize, and which performance style ultimately came out on top, song or dance.
