Akissi is a young girl, the last of her siblings, dreaming of having a younger brother or sister. To prove to her parents that she is responsible enough to take care of someone younger than her, Akissi promises to bring a fish back for dinner. However, the path to the market is littered with traps; first of all, she meets a cute little monkey, then comes across the terrible “Cat Gang” who steals her fish! With the help of her friends, Edmond and Papou, Akissi gets the fish back from the claws of the cats and makes friends with the little monkey that she names “Boubou”!

He is truly the little brother of her dreams! However, an uncle poacher captures Boubou and takes him back to his lair. With the help of her friends, Akissi manages to free Boubou from the poacher’s cages and brings him back to her house. But an even greater challenge is awaiting her: convincing her parents, her brother Fofana and her big sister Victorine to welcome Boubou into the family. No small feat, seeing as the little monkey is quite fond of making mischief…
