From American Idol and Hell’s Kitchen to The Voice and The Bachelor, Mike Darnell has been part of the biggest unscripted franchises in the world and is considered one of the most influential figures in the history of reality television. Since becoming president of Warner Bros Unscripted Television, Darnell has grown the studio’s unscripted portfolio exponentially, overseeing more than 1500 original episodes annually (from primetime formats, to talk shows, to premium documentaries). Previously, as president of Alternative Entertainment at Fox, he created and oversaw hundreds of primetime series and specials during his nearly 20 years at the network. In this keynote session we hear Darnell’s unique perspective on the current state of the television business, how the industry has changed through his extraordinary career, and what he is looking for now and in the coming seasons.
