Celebrity Infested Waters plays on our primordial fear of deep water and what lurks beneath, while also helping to transform our perceptions of sharks and the vital role they play in our oceans.

A group of famous faces travel to the tropical paradise of the Bahamas — the shark capital of the world, with one of the greatest diversities of shark species on the planet. Across the series, they face increasingly nerve-testing challenges on land and at sea, all designed to prepare them for each episode’s spine-chilling climax: getting up close with a bigger, more fearsome species of shark. On their journey from metre-long Nurse Sharks in the shallows to six-metre-long apex predators like the Tiger Shark and Great Hammerhead Shark in the deep, their first-hand experiences deliver immeasurable excitement.

But as they learn to overcome their worst fears, we also gain a new perspective on nature’s so-called villains — realising that sharks have far more to fear from us than we do from them, and that a world without them may be the most frightening prospect of all.
