Two groups of determined participants are plunged into the world of those who settled near the fishing banks on the Gaspé Peninsula during the Great Depression.
Under wretched conditions and using only technology of the day, the settlers are tasked with laying down the foundations of a small private fishing cooperative and carrying out orders given by the host of the series, who is also an inspector with the ministry of colonization.
Building the traditional cooking room and fishing boat, processing the mythical cod, and dealing with the constant unpredictability of the sea, the courageous settlers must survive successive eliminations until only one of them makes it to the end... and walks away with the $100,000 grand prize.
