Hot Properties October 2026

02-10-2026

This month’s C21 Marketplace Hot Properties playlist offers 14 titles for buyers to enjoy, including a topical documentary on the Bayeux Tapestry, a pulse-pounding London crime thriller and a high-energy heist drama inspired by Sweden’s largest financial crime.

The factual slate is broad and compelling this month. Autentic Distribution’s Secrets of Cold War Ruins explores the dark legacy of the superpower rivalry through long-abandoned sites – the top-secret bases, hidden underground bunkers, advanced weapons programmes and covert operations that defined a perilous era. BossaNova Media’s Ruins: Rise & Fall, meanwhile, takes a similarly epic approach to lost places, using breathtaking digital reconstruction to rebuild the world’s greatest vanished civilisations before chronicling the dramatic events that reduced them to rubble.

Cineflix Rights offers one of the month’s most distinctive factual highlights with Secrets of the Bayeux Tapestry, narrated by Sir Michael Palin, which follows the tapestry’s historic journey to the British Museum for the first time in nearly a thousand years, revealing the secrets woven into its extraordinary story. DCD Rights brings a bold new lens to the Second World War with The Geography of War: World War II, examining the key campaigns through the prism of geography, using expert interviews, colourised archival footage and dynamic animated maps to reveal the often decisive links between terrain and conflict.

Blue Ant Media’s The Trial of Alec Baldwin examines one of the most high-profile legal cases in recent Hollywood history, asking whether the actor – charged with involuntary manslaughter following a fatal on-set shooting – was ultimately being judged by the law or by the court of public opinion. Syndicado offers something altogether more serene with Country Vlog: The Rustic Table, a warm journey through Azerbaijani village life, showcasing farm-to-table cooking and the timeless rhythms of rural living.

Sony Pictures Television brings the format The Art Game, tapping into the universal thrill of discovering a hidden gem and asking whether ordinary people can turn a good eye into real profit.

On the comedy front, ABC Commercial’s Separated at Birth is a new series created by and starring Nazeem Hussain, driven by his distinctive comedic voice and his real-life chemistry with co-star and genuine best friend Urzila Carlson. Sphere Abacus brings Slo Pitch, centred on a queer underdog softball team and their determined coach, starring Jess Salgueiro, Karen Knox, Gwenlyn Cumyn, Emma Hunter and Emily Hampshire.

Drama buyers are particularly well served this month. Banijay Entertainment’s The Murder of Mr Moonlight is a five-part factual drama based on Catherine Fegan’s bestselling book, following the murder of Tipperary DJ Bobby Ryan and the decade-long pursuit of justice. Studio 100 delivers Hit Point, written by Howard Overman and described as a pulse-pounding blend of crime thriller and romantic drama, following two detectives as their latest case pulls them deep into a dangerous London underworld, blurring the lines between their personal and professional lives with every twist and betrayal.

Studio TF1’s A Cowboy Love Song offers a warmer register – a TV movie in which a burned-out aspiring country singer returns to her Texas hometown and reconnects with a reformed bad boy turned Texas Ranger, as old wounds, second chances and a long-simmering romance force her to choose between running from her past or reclaiming her voice. Viaplay Group rounds out the drama slate with Golden Boys, a high-energy heist thriller inspired by Sweden’s largest financial crime, set in 1997 Stockholm and following two cousins whose ambition and recklessness drive a bold illegal takeover that spirals out of control, featuring an international cast led by Nigel Havers as real-life British aristocrat Lord Moyne.

Finally, in children’s television, Sixteen South’s Odo introduces a little owl with big ideas. At the Forest Camp for Young Birds, Odo and his best friend Doodle tackle every challenge with positivity and ambition – often with wonderfully unexpected results.

That’s all for this month – stay tuned for more Hot Properties throughout the year!
