Hot Properties playlist for January 2025

08-01-2025

With a new year upon us, this month’s Hot Properties playlist on C21 Marketplace presents new factual programmes, formats, dramas and comedies to help lift the winter gloom.

This month’s Hot Properties playlist offers 11 new titles for buyers to enjoy, including an exploration of the culinary world, a fascinating look at the secret wildlife of one of Europe’s greatest cities, and a Swedish prosecutor with a dark past.

To kick things off in the factual space, Billy & Dom Eat the World from Sphere Abacus follows Billy Boyd and Dominic Monaghan, famed for portraying mischievous hobbits in The Lord of the Rings trilogy, as they embark on a unique culinary quest to gain new insights into the specialities of different countries and cultures.

Continuing the food theme, Australian chef Maggie Beer takes on her most ambitious project yet as she delivers elderly care home residents a new appetite for life in ABC Commercial’s Maggie Beer’s Big Mission.

Unique experiences are also at the heart of Northwoods Survival from Blue Ant Media. The show follows a diverse group of people as they embark on the challenge of their lives – a mission to build a life in the vast and unforgiving northern Canadian wilderness.

In the world of documentary, Vienna is a leading European tourist destination and one of the world’s most biologically active cities. Wild Vienna from Autentic Distribution explores the nooks and crannies of imperial palaces, ancient churches and historical gardens where an amazing variety of wildlife thrives.

Exploring powerful biceps and impressive muscles, GAD’s Strong, Beautiful & Healthy documents one of the most enduring trends of the past 100 years: bodybuilding and the fitness industry.

In drama, Day One from Federation Studios presents a thrilling race against time to save newborn babies in a Ukrainian maternity ward as Russian forces advance, while StudioCanal’s Families Like Ours, created, written and directed by Oscar winner Thomas Vinterberg, offers a gripping family drama of hope and survival as the population of Denmark is forced to say goodbye to its homeland.

Upping the suspense, Jana – Marked For Life from Viaplay Content Distribution follows prosecutor Jana Berzelius as she uncovers a chilling link to her own dark past when Sweden’s top migration official is murdered. How long will she be able to hide her old life as a child soldier and killing machine?

The Upir from Seven. One Studios International offers more light-hearted viewing. Facing the curse of eternal life, Eddie’s world is turned upside down as he navigates Berlin’s supernatural underworld to reclaim his humanity. Meanwhile, a loudmouth US Army colonel (played by Denis Leary) is reassigned to the Netherlands, where he is punished with a command position at the least significant army base in the world, in Fox Entertainment Global’s Going Dutch.

Finally, for the kids, comes Talking Tom Heroes Suddenly Super from Cake. Tom and his friends have been transformed into superheroes, now they’re off on an adventure to discover their real powers and save the day!

That’s all for this month, stay tuned for more Hot Properties throughout the year.
