In Memoriam is the story of Julien, Judith, Mathieu, and Lucile—siblings who have felt like orphans for as long as they can remember. Their mother, Mathilde, took her own life when they were all still young—and each one in turn then broke off contact with their incredibly wealthy father, Paul-Émile, believing him to be at the root of the tragedy. Following the death of their father, the children, their spouses, and a mysterious stranger are all invited to the reading of his will. To their shock, they learn that none of them are due to inherit as much as one cent. Their only hope of getting their hands on his $84 million fortune is to take part in a series of challenges he has contrived to determine which one of his children might win his inheritance.
However, the increasingly troubling tests reveal more than a few dark corners of family history while sowing mounting pain and chaos, and bringing up long-forgotten past wounds. Even from beyond the grave, Paul-Émile still has control over them.
In Memoriam stars Jean-Simon Leduc (Alertes) as Julien, Catherine Brunet (Pour toujours, plus un jour) as Judith, Éric Bruneau (Coroner) as Mathieu, Evelyne Brochu (Orphan Black) as Lucile, and Bruno Marcil (Mégantic) as Paul-Émile de Léry.
The series is created by Pierre-Marc Drouin and Pascale Renaud-Hébert, with the participation of Jean-Philippe Baril-Guérard, and is written by Pierre-Marc Drouin (Doute raisonnable) and Pascale Renaud-Hébert (M’entends-tu). Marie-Claude Blouin (Chouchou, De Pierre en fille, Le Chalet) and Félix Tétreault (Chouchou, Lou et Sophie) are the series directors.
