Widowed Irene (Uschi Glas) falls for a „grandchild trick“ scam, losing all her jewelry, even her wedding ring. Ashamed and shaken, she moves into a senior residence, not expecting this to be the start of the end of her loneliness. The lively Helene (Katharina Thalbach) draws her into a tight-knit group with Christel (Ursula Werner) and Annemarie (Soogi Kang). Outraged, they decide not to rely on the police. Instead, they hatch a risky plan involving a trap, a money courier and a hearse.
