Among the 1138 items up for grabs are over 100 genuine works by leading artists including Anish Kapoor, Damien Hirst, David Bailey and Dinos Chapman. Within 30 minutes of opening, the sale is over. Every item sold. The buyers who’ve spent up to £25k for a unique piece are convinced they’re now at the highly profitable, bleeding-edge of contemporary art collecting. But within days, every one of their investments is worthless, as it emerges that they own nothing at all.

This feature documentary tells the inside story of the art world’s Gunpowder Plot. On one side is Ben Moore, the star curator behind the auction, who pocketed millions from the auction sale.
