They risk their lives by salvaging munition from the second world war and damaged cutters. They lay 700 metres long pipes under the seabed for fiber optic links from Germany to Denmark and Sweden and cooperate with environmentalists and scientists to protect the Baltic sea and its marine life. They clean the sea from ghost nets that they find in shipwrecks and they grow seaweed for climate protection.
