Africa, regarded worldwide as a "sleeping gas giant," is a continent rich in untapped reserves. Between 2010 and 2020, 40 percent of the world's gas reserves were discovered in Africa. Mozambique is expected to become the third-largest African exporter of liquefied natural gas, and Senegal in West Africa is also seen as a major future gas supplier. But what does this mean for their citizens? Will they truly benefit from the gas exports, with new jobs and reduced migration to Europe?
