British explorer Lucy Shepherd takes audiences directly into her high-risk, on-foot expedition across remote regions of Tanzania alongside an Indigenous Hadza and Akie teams. Launching earlier this month on Channel 4 to widespread acclaim, the three part series has earned five-star reviews and been hailed as “thrilling”, “authentic” and “compelling.”
Self-filmed by Lucy, the series is immersive, real and raw. Moving through thorn forest and open savannah, the expedition takes place in territory shared with some of Africa’s most dangerous wildlife. Hyenas stalk camps at night, elephants come out of no where, and prides of lions hunt across the same land the team must cross on foot and with no vehicles and limited supplies, every decision carries consequence. With no crew and no safety net, survival depends on working with the wild rather than against it.
