Marble Mania rolls into Belgium

Marble Mania debuted in the Netherlands last month

Flemish-language channel VTM in Belgium has commissioned a local adaptation of Dutch gameshow Marble Mania, from John de Mol’s Talpa Entertainment Productions.

The show debuted on Talpa TV-owned Dutch channel SBS6 three weeks ago and Talpa will now produce six episodes of the Belgian version alongside local prodco Dok1. The broadcast date has yet to be announced.

Marble Mania sees three celebrities compete to raise money for charity by gaining as many marbles as possible ahead of a marble race at the end of each episode.

As well as handling production, de Mol company Talpa Concepts distributes the format. The Marble Mania format has already been commissioned by RTL in Germany for airing this spring.

Maarten Janssen, channel manager at VTM, said: “We are very happy with this collaboration, since we strongly believe in this concept. Marble Mania is an exciting and spectacular show for the whole family, and that’s exactly what we at VTM continue to focus on. We are therefore very excited to release this marble sensation now also in Flanders.”
