LA-based non-fiction prodco Magical Elves has appointed longtime company execs Casey Kriley and Jo Sharon as co-CEOs.

Kriley and Sharon replace Toby Gorman, who has been acting as CEO on an interim basis following the departure of Magical Elves founders Dan Cutforth and Jane Lipsitz in February.

Gorman was today confirmed as president of Universal Television Alternative Studio.

Kriley has been promoted from chief operating officer. She was previously executive VP of current programming at Magical Elves, which she joined upon its founding in 2001.

Sharon has been upped from chief creative officer. She joined Magical Elves in 2010 as VP of development.

Magical Elves has been part of UK- and US-based prodco and distributor The Tinopolis Group since 2014. Its shows include Top Chef and Project Runway for Bravo and Netflix’s Nailed It!

“These past six months have only confirmed our instinct that Casey and Jo are the ideal duo to keep Magical Elves firing on all cylinders,” said Arthur Smith, chairman of Tinopolis USA.

“Individually, Casey and Jo have each been invaluable contributors to the success of Magical Elves, and together, they are an unstoppable force perfectly equipped to lead their tight-knit team as they produce the next generation of hit shows.”

Cutforth and Lipsitz, meanwhile, recently revealed their new independent production firm Alfred Street Industries.
