Magical Elves conjure current series VP

California-based non-fiction prodco Magical Elves has hired a senior VP of current series from Canadian producer Our House Media.

Hillary Olsen was most recently VP of development at the Canuck company, overseeing shows such as Killer Affair for Oxygen. Prior to that, she was director of current programming at Esquire Network when it was a linear channel.

Olsen has a variety of producing credits on Magical Elves titles, having served as exec producer and showrunner on the 11th season of culinary format Top Chef. She also held other producing positions on earlier seasons of the series and its spin-offs, in addition to working on reality series Work of Art and Sugar Rush.

“As Magical Elves continues to grow its slate of quality, aspirational programming, Hillary’s expertise in production and development will be a tremendous asset to the team,” said Magical Elves co-CEOs Casey Kriley and Jo Sharon in a joint statement.

The appointment continues a year of change for the Tinopolis-owned Project Runway producer, following the announcement in February that company founders Dan Cutforth and Jane Lipsitz were to exit.

Kriley and Sharon were subsequently confirmed as co-CEOs in their place, while Cutforth and Lipsitz have since unveiled their new indie Alfred Street Industries.
