Macedonia’s Alfa opts for Indian epic

Porus follows the invasion of Alexander the Great into India

NEWS BRIEF: Macedonian commercial broadcaster Alfa TV has acquired 300-episode Indian drama epic Porus through a deal with distributor One Life Studios of Mumbai.

The show has a reported budget of US$72m and airs in India via Sony Entertainment TV, produced by Swastik Productions. It follows the Battle of the Hydaspes between Macedonian leader Alexander the Great and King Porus of the Punjab in 326BCE.
