M6 adds Oz, Canuck dramas from Red Arrow

Australian series Bad Mothers

French broadcaster M6 Group has picked up Australian and Canadian dramas from German distributor Red Arrow Studios International

Bad Mothers (8×45’) follows a group of modern women juggling love, family, work, infidelity and murder. Produced by Australia’s Jungle Entertainment and Filthy Productions, it originally aired on Australia’s Nine Network and TVNZ in New Zealand and will now air on M6’s French channel Téva.

Departure (6×45’), meanwhile revolves around the mysterious disappearance of a passenger plane and stars Archie Panjabi and Christopher Plummer. The series is produced by Shaftesbury and Greenpoint Productions in association with Canada’s Corus Entertainment. It will air on M6-owned duo W9 and 6TER.

Bo Stehmeier, president of Red Arrow Studios International, said: “We’re delighted M6 has come on board for both Bad Mothers and Departure. With Departure’s fast-paced storyline and top-class cast, and Bad Mothers’ amusing exploration of the joys and perils of modern motherhood, we’re confident both series will resonate with audiences in France.”

Bad Mothers has already been sold into international markets including the UK, the Middle East and Africa, while Departure has landed on broadcasters in the UK, Germany, Spain and Poland, among others.
