LoveFilm gets Under the Dome

Amazon-owned VoD firm LoveFilm will be the exclusive online home of thriller Under the Dome in the UK after picking up rights from CBS Studios International.

The Amblin Television-produced show, which is based on Stephen King’s novel and is currently airing in the territory on terrestrial Channel 5, will be available on streaming service LoveFilm Instant from June 2014.

The Lovefilm deal follows the recent extension of Amazon’s rights to the show in the US, allowing it to stream episodes four days after broadcast on the network. Under the Dome was renewed for a second season this summer.

In related news, CBS Studios International has struck another UK deal – with Comedy Central, which has taken territory rights to new series The Millers and We Are Men, while also renewing King of Queens.

“The Millers was the stand-out comedy at this year’s LA Screenings. It’s a great fit with our current crop of US and UK sitcoms,” said Brad Wood, head of acquisitions at Comedy Central UK.
