Love Nature UHD content joins Sky

Love Nature’s Big Cat Country will be available on Sky

European satcaster Sky will add programming from Blue Ant Media’s Love Nature ultra-high definition (UHD) wildlife catalogue to its on-demand line-up later this year.

Love Nature, a joint venture between Canada’s Blue Ant and Smithsonian Networks, is one of the world’s biggest producers of natural history content shot in UHD.

Its content will be available to all Sky’s UK customers on-demand and via the Comcast-owned company’s Now TV OTT service. It will also be offered on-demand on Sky in Germany and Italy.

Titles to be made available will include Big Cat Country, America’s Wild Seasons and Monkey Island.

“Over the last five years, we have commissioned over 500 hours of the highest quality 4K natural history programming with leading production companies around the world,” said Ward Platt, CEO of Global Networks & Kids at Blue Ant Media. “Bringing Love Nature to Sky across Europe is a significant milestone for the brand’s ongoing global expansion.”
