Love Nature launches digital exclusive

Julian Braatvedt fronts Nature of the Beast

Blue Ant Media-owned natural history channel Love Nature is preparing an original series about hyenas in Zambia that will launch on Facebook and YouTube this month.

Nature of the Beast will debut on Love Nature’s Facebook page on Wednesday and on a branded YouTube channel on Friday, culminating with a fourth episode that will be a live conservation special hosted by wildlife filmmaker Julian ‘Julz’ Braatvedt.

Set in South Luangwa National Park in Zambia, the series will be supported by a weekly Instagram Live broadcast with Braatvedt to discuss wildlife filmmaking.

The first episodes of Nature of the Beast will focus on hyenas but the series will go on to highlight surprising behaviours and social dynamics of other predators in Africa.

“Love Nature has been building its digital and social audience over the last year and this series is a great example of that offering, giving viewers a fresh, interactive way to experience wildlife and nature content,” said Carlyn Staudt, global general manager at Love Nature, a joint venture between Blue Ant Media and Smithsonian Networks.

“Julz makes Nature of the Beast feel like a conversation with a friend who’s guiding you on an adventure into the wild.”

Braatvedt added: “Launching the series on digital platforms allows me to connect directly with viewers to share new perspectives on wildlife and support solutions that will have a lasting impact on wildlife habitats and the entire global ecosystem.”
