Australia-based Looking Glass International (LGI) has acquired 55 hours of programming from UK distributor Factory Media and tapped its sales chief to run a new outpost in London.

He arrives from Factory, which specialises in sports, adventure and the outdoors and has sold 55 hours of content to LGI, whose library spans wildlife, science, history, travel and lifestyle programming.

Thompson joined Factory as head of global sales at the beginning of 2016, having previously been MD of international at the London office of US distributor Big Media Holdings.

Prior to that, he had been based in Australia, where he began his career in international programme sales at World Wide Entertainment.
