Lone Eagle to open Canadian Toy Box

The Toy Box airs on ABC in the US

Canadian prodco Lone Eagle Entertainment is aiming for a local version of Mattel competition reality format The Toy Box after picking up rights from distributor Electus International.

The Toy Box offers expert designers the chance to bring their toy concept to life with the support of Mattel before their product faces the ultimate judges: a panel of kids.

The original US version on ABC has wrapped recently and was simulcast on CTV in Canada, but Lone Eagle is now hoping for a local remake after optioning the format. President Mike Geddes described the show as “great co-viewing for the whole family.”

The Toy Box was developed by Hudsun Media, Mattel and Electus and has already been licensed to Italy, Spain and the UK.
