Little Piggy goes to China

Chinese distributor IPCN has bought two formats from Spanish prodco Phileas Productions.

The Beijing-based firm has acquired rights to quizshow The 20 Little Piggy Banks, co-created by Phileas and France’s TF1 Production. Contestants must answer questions correctly to accumulate piggy banks that are then smashed to reveal cash prizes.

IPCN has also bought format rights to Sit Tight, which sees contestants physically removed from their seats if they answer incorrectly.

“This opens the door to a new market which we were keen to enter and we are learning a lot. China has become one of the biggest buyers of new formats,” said Phileas MD Sergio Sancho.

Meanwhile, FremantleMedia in France and Endemol in Italy have secured rights to Phileas’ quiz format Don’t Say It, Bring It!.

The show, which is being distributed by Turkey’s Global Agency, requires contestants to answer questions not with words but objects found at the show’s various urban locations.
